Peanut Butter Bars

Yummy Peanut Butter Bars .. Best for a kids birthday party as I havent seen a kid who doesnt like peanut butter.

Servings: 20 bars
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS
 

1 stick of butter at room temperature
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Glazing:
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup peanut butter
some milk


DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degreeF and grease a medium sized baking tray. Around 10*10

  2. In a medium bowl mix together flour , baking soda and salt.

  3. Using a mixer cream together butter , white sugar and brown sugar.Add the 1/4 cup peanut butter , egg and vanilla . Mix well.

  4. Now add the flour mixture to it and stir well. Finally add the oats and mix well.

  5. Spread the dough on the greased pan. It will be a little hard to spread it out , but use a spatula and spread it out evenly.

  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are firm .Remove from oven and sprinkle the choclate chips all over . After 5 minutes , the chips will be melted and spread it all over to cover.

  7. For making the glaze , take the 1/4 cup peanut butter in a bowl and microwave for 15 seconds. Add the sugar and mix well using a whisk.Add milk to attain the drizzling consitency (2-3 tbsp)

  8. Drizzle the glaze all over the bar and cut them to sqaures and serve.
