Gobi Manchurian

An indo-chinese recipe which is everyones favourite!!This recipe is for Gobi Manchurian dry.

INGREDIENTS
 

1 medium cauliflower
2 onions thinly sliced
3 green chillies
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
3/4 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oil
salt and pepper to taste
extra oil for frying

For batter:
-----------
5 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp red chili paste(sambal)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp baking soda
salt to taste
a pinch of orange food color


DIRECTIONS

  1. Divide cauliflower into small florets.Wash and season with salt and pepper.

  2. Mix together all the batter ingredients in a bowl and make a thick batter using water.

  3. Heat the oil for frying in a wok . Dip each floret in the batter , coat it well and fry.You can fry in batches.Lift and drain on paper towels.

  4. In another wok , heat the 2 tbsp oil.Add onions,green chillies and gingergarlic paste.Saute well for about 10 minutes.When the onions are browned add the tomato sauce , soya sauce and extra red chilly paste if required.Mix well and simmer .

  5. Just before serving add the fried cauliflower to the wok .Stir and serve with chinese fried rice
