Aloo Methi [Potatoes with Fenugreek Greens]

A dish which can be made with anyone . All the ingredients are pressure cooked for a delicious curry which can be served with rice or roti.

Servings: 3-4
Cooking Time: 20 minutes

INGREDIENTS
 

3 medium potatoes peeled and diced
1 bunch of methi leaves chopped
1 tbsp cooking oil
1/2 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tbsp channa dal
1 tbsp urd dal
2 tbsp toor dal
2 dry chillies broken
3 garlic cloves minced
1 small onion chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 cups of water
salt to taste


DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat a medium size pressure cooker . Heat the oil and splutter mustard .When the mustard starts poping add cumin seeds , channa das , urd dal , toor dal , dry chllies , garlic , onion and stir until dals are browned and onions are soft.

  2. Add the turmeric powder and chilli powder . Stir well .

  3. Then add the methi leaves and potatoes with water and salt. Stir well and pressure cook till down . Cook till 3 or 4 whistles.
